Climax
A climax in trading refers to a point of extreme activity, typically marked by a surge in volume and a sharp price move that signals the exhaustion of the prevailing trend. A buying climax occurs at market tops when euphoric buyers push prices to unsustainable levels, while a selling climax happens at bottoms when panic selling reaches a peak. Climax events are closely watched by experienced traders as potential reversal signals.
Example
“The selling climax on record volume suggested that bears had finally exhausted themselves, and a reversal was likely imminent.”
