CryptoC
Coin
A Coin is a digital asset that operates on its own underlying blockchain, unlike tokens which run on the blockchain of other cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) are the best-known examples of coins. Understanding the distinction between coins and tokens is important for crypto investors, as it affects the asset's utility, security model, and independent network viability.
Example
“Bitcoin is classified as a coin because it runs on its own native blockchain, while USDT is a token because it operates on networks like Ethereum and Tron.”
