Core PCE Price Index
The Core PCE (Personal Consumption Expenditures) Price Index measures the change in prices of goods and services purchased by US consumers, excluding volatile food and energy components. It is the Federal Reserve's preferred inflation gauge for guiding monetary policy decisions.
Example
“Core PCE came in at 2.8% year-over-year, above the Fed's 2% target, reinforcing expectations that interest rates would remain elevated for longer.”
