Discretionary Trading
Discretionary trading is a trading approach where decisions to enter and exit trades are made based on the trader's judgment, experience, and analysis rather than following a rigid, automated system. Discretionary traders may use technical and fundamental analysis but ultimately rely on their intuition and market feel.
Example
“The discretionary trader decided to skip a textbook short setup because he noticed unusual buying volume that conflicted with the bearish pattern.”
