Risk Parity
An investment strategy that allocates portfolio capital based on risk contribution rather than dollar amounts, aiming to equalize the risk each asset class contributes to the overall portfolio. It often involves leveraging lower-risk assets.
Example
“In a risk parity portfolio, bonds might receive a larger dollar allocation than equities because they are less volatile, but both contribute equal amounts of risk to the overall portfolio.”
