Turnover

The total value or volume of securities traded during a specific period, used as a measure of market activity and liquidity. In a broader business context, turnover can also refer to a company's total revenue or the rate at which assets such as inventory or receivables are replaced. High turnover in a stock suggests strong market interest and typically narrower bid-ask spreads, making it easier for traders to enter and exit positions.

Example

Daily turnover on the London Stock Exchange exceeded £8 billion during the FTSE 100 rebalancing, well above the average of £5 billion.
