Ask
The lowest price at which a seller is willing to sell a security or asset, also known as the offer price. Buyers who want immediate execution must buy at the ask price by placing a market order. The difference between the bid and the ask is called the spread, and tighter spreads generally indicate higher liquidity and lower transaction costs.
Example
“The ask on Bitcoin was $67,250, so my market buy order filled at that price plus a small exchange fee.”
