Bahamian Dollar (BSD)
The official currency of The Bahamas, abbreviated BSD and subdivided into 100 cents. It is issued by the Central Bank of The Bahamas and has been pegged to the United States dollar at a 1:1 exchange rate since 1973. Because of this fixed peg, the BSD circulates alongside the US dollar throughout the islands, and both currencies are accepted as legal tender.

“Tourists exchanging currency in Nassau found that the Bahamian Dollar traded at par with the US dollar due to the longstanding 1:1 peg.”
