Barbados Dollar (BBD)
The official currency of Barbados, abbreviated BBD and subdivided into 100 cents. It is issued by the Central Bank of Barbados and has been pegged to the US dollar at a fixed exchange rate of 2 BBD to 1 USD since 1975. This fixed peg provides exchange rate stability for the island's tourism-dependent economy, and the US dollar is widely accepted alongside the Barbados dollar in everyday transactions.
