Bhutan Ngultrum (BTN)
The official currency of Bhutan, abbreviated BTN, issued by the Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan. It is pegged at par to the Indian rupee, meaning one BTN equals one INR, and Indian rupees are also accepted as legal tender in Bhutan. The ngultrum is subdivided into 100 chetrum and is not widely traded on international forex markets.
Example
“Because the Bhutan Ngultrum is pegged to the Indian rupee, movements in INR directly impact the purchasing power of BTN holders.”
