Gap
A break between prices on a chart where no trading has occurred. Gaps often appear between the close of one trading session and the open of the next.
Example
“After a company reported earnings well above expectations, its stock opened $5 higher than the previous close, creating a visible gap on the chart that traders watched to see if it would be filled.”
