Good Till Cancelled (GTC)

A Good Till Cancelled (GTC) order remains active in the market until it is either filled or explicitly cancelled by the trader. It allows traders to set entry or exit prices and walk away without needing to re-enter the order each trading day.

Example

The trader set a GTC sell order at $250 on their Nvidia shares, confident the stock would eventually reach that target without having to re-enter the order each day.
