PPI

The Producer Price Index measures the average change in selling prices received by domestic producers for their output over time. It is a leading indicator of consumer inflation, as rising production costs are often passed on to consumers.

Example

PPI rose 0.6% month-over-month, above the 0.3% forecast, causing Treasury yields to spike as traders anticipated hotter CPI data the following week.
