Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF)

A state-owned investment fund that manages a country's surplus reserves, typically derived from commodity revenues or trade surpluses. SWFs invest in a diversified portfolio of global assets including stocks, bonds, and real estate.

Norway's Government Pension Fund, the world's largest sovereign wealth fund at over $1.4 trillion, announced it would increase its allocation to renewable energy companies.
