Spread
The difference between the bid (buy) and ask (sell) price of a financial instrument. A tighter spread generally indicates higher liquidity. Brokers often earn revenue through the spread.
Example
“EUR/USD had a spread of just 0.8 pips during the London session, but it widened to 5 pips during the NFP release as liquidity dried up momentarily.”
