Ask Price

The lowest price a seller is willing to accept for a financial instrument, also known as the offer price. The ask price is always higher than the bid price, and the difference between them is called the spread. Monitoring the ask price is essential for active traders, as it determines the cost of entering a long position or covering a short.

Example

The ask price tightened as more sellers entered the market, narrowing the spread to just one cent.
