Tick

The minimum price movement of a trading instrument. A tick can be up (uptick) or down (downtick) and varies by asset class and exchange.

Example

The E-mini S&P 500 futures contract has a tick size of 0.25 points, worth $12.50 per tick, so a 4-tick move equals a $50 profit or loss per contract.
