Uzbekistan Sum (UZS)

The official currency of Uzbekistan, abbreviated as UZS and issued by the Central Bank of Uzbekistan. The sum underwent a significant devaluation and liberalisation in 2017 when the government unified the official and black-market exchange rates. Uzbekistan's economy is driven by cotton, gold, natural gas, and copper exports, and the currency remains sensitive to commodity prices and ongoing economic reforms.

Example

USD/UZS traded near 12,400 after the Central Bank of Uzbekistan allowed greater flexibility in the exchange rate, moving toward a more market-determined value.
