Web 3.0

A vision for the next evolution of the internet that emphasises decentralisation, blockchain technology, token-based economics, and user ownership of data and digital assets. Web 3.0 aims to shift power from centralised platforms and intermediaries to individual users through peer-to-peer networks, smart contracts, and decentralised applications (dApps). While still largely aspirational, Web 3.0 concepts are being implemented through DeFi protocols, NFT marketplaces, decentralised social networks, and decentralised autonomous organisations (DAOs).

Example

The startup raised $30 million to build a Web 3.0 social media platform where users own their content and earn tokens for engagement rather than generating ad revenue for a central corporation.
