About ICE Futures Abu Dhabi

ICE Futures Abu Dhabi (IFAD) is a regulated commodity derivatives exchange launched in 2021 by Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) in partnership with ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company) and nine leading global energy market participants. IFAD's flagship product is the Murban crude oil futures contract, which was designed to become the world's first freely traded Murban crude benchmark, enabling global market participants to hedge against the Middle East's largest crude oil grade.

NMCE offered futures contracts for precious metals, base metals, and agricultural commodities. Despite being a first-mover in India's commodity derivatives space, NMCE faced sustained challenges in liquidity and competition from MCX and NCDEX. SEBI cancelled NMCE's recognition as a national commodity exchange in 2018, effectively ending its operations.

Originally established in 1980 as the Kuala Lumpur Commodity Exchange (KLCE), it became MDEX in 2001 and was rebranded as Bursa Malaysia Derivatives in 2004. CPO futures are a critical global benchmark for the edible oil and biodiesel industries. Other products include Crude Palm Kernel Oil (CPKO), rubber, FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Index futures, and government bond futures.
