dVAL

The Developing Value Area Low (dVAL) is the real-time lower boundary of the value area as it develops throughout the current trading session, representing the lowest price within which approximately 70% of volume has been traded so far. Like the dVAH, it changes dynamically as new volume is added during the session. Intraday traders use the dVAL as dynamic support, often looking for buying opportunities when price approaches or tests this level.

Example

The trader went long when price pulled back to the dVAL at 4,180, expecting the developing value area low to act as intraday support.
