VAL

Value Area Low, the lower boundary of the value area in a volume profile analysis, representing the lowest price within the range where a specified percentage (typically 70%) of total volume was traded during a given session. VAL serves as a key support reference when price trades above it and can act as resistance once broken. Traders often look for reactions at VAL to gauge whether buyers or sellers are in control at the lower edge of the prior session's value area.

Example

Buyers stepped in aggressively at the VAL of $152.30, pushing price back up into the value area and confirming the level as strong support.
