Exhaustion
A condition where buying or selling pressure has been depleted after a sustained move. Characterized by high volume with little price progress, indicating participants are running out of conviction.
Example
“After a 5-day rally, the stock printed a high-volume doji candle with barely any net price change — a sign of buyer exhaustion — and the next session opened with a gap down.”
