AAII Sentiment Survey
A weekly survey by the American Association of Individual Investors measuring the percentage of investors who are bullish, bearish, or neutral on the stock market over the next six months. It is widely used as a contrarian sentiment indicator, as extreme readings often signal potential market turning points when retail sentiment peaks near reversals.
Example
“The AAII Sentiment Survey showed 55% bullish readings this week, suggesting the market may be approaching a short-term top.”
