Accumulation
A phase where smart money or institutional investors gradually buy an asset at lower prices before a significant markup. Often appearing as a sideways range on the chart, accumulation is a core concept in the Wyckoff Method. Identifying accumulation early can give traders a significant edge, as it typically precedes a strong upward price movement.
Example
“Bitcoin appeared to be in an accumulation phase, trading sideways for weeks while on-chain data showed whales steadily buying.”
