General TradingA
Aggressor
A trader who removes liquidity from the order book by placing market orders that immediately execute against resting limit orders. Aggressors pay the spread and drive short-term price movement. Monitoring aggressor activity is central to order flow analysis, as it reveals who is actively pushing price and how urgently participants want to enter or exit positions.
Example
“A large aggressor hit the offer repeatedly, sweeping through three levels of resting asks in seconds.”
