Bolivian Boliviano (BOB)

The Bolivian Boliviano (BOB) is the official currency of Bolivia, issued by the Central Bank of Bolivia and subdivided into 100 centavos. Named after independence leader Simón Bolívar, the boliviano replaced the Bolivian peso in 1987e. It is not widely traded on international forex markets and is primarily used within the domestic economy.

Example

Travelers heading to Bolivia typically exchange their US dollars for Bolivian Bolivianos upon arrival, as the BOB is rarely available from foreign exchange bureaus outside the country.
