Chilean Peso (CLP)

The Chilean Peso is the official currency of Chile, abbreviated as CLP in forex markets. It is a free-floating currency whose value is significantly influenced by copper prices, as Chile is the world's largest copper producer. Traders in emerging market currencies often use CLP as a proxy for copper market sentiment, and the currency tends to strengthen during periods of global industrial expansion.

Example

The Chilean Peso rallied sharply after copper futures hit a six-month high on strong Chinese demand data.
