DI+

DI+ (Positive Directional Indicator) is a component of the Directional Movement Index (DMI) system developed by J. Welles Wilder that measures the strength of upward price movement. When DI+ is above DI- (the negative directional indicator), it suggests bullish momentum is dominant, and when combined with a rising ADX reading, it confirms a strong uptrend. Traders often use crossovers of DI+ and DI- as entry and exit signals.

Example

The DI+ line crossed above DI- while the ADX was above 25, generating a bullish signal that confirmed the start of a new uptrend on the daily chart.
