Dogecoin (DOGE)

Dogecoin (DOGE) is a cryptocurrency created in December 2013 by Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer as a lighthearted parody of Bitcoin, featuring the iconic Shiba Inu dog meme as its logo. Despite its humorous origins, Dogecoin has grown into one of the largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, driven by a passionate community and endorsements from high-profile figures. It uses a proof-of-work consensus mechanism and has no maximum supply cap, making it an inflationary cryptocurrency.

Example

Dogecoin became one of the top ten cryptocurrencies by market cap during the 2021 bull run, largely fueled by viral social media campaigns and celebrity endorsements.
