ECN
An Electronic Communication Network (ECN) is a computerized system that automatically matches buy and sell orders in financial markets. ECNs provide direct access to other market participants, offering tighter spreads and greater transparency.
Example
“The trader's EUR/USD order was matched instantly through the ECN, connecting them directly with a liquidity provider offering a 0.1-pip spread instead of the typical 1.5-pip spread from a dealing desk.”
