El Salvador Colon (SVC)
The El Salvador Colón was the official currency of El Salvador, abbreviated as SVC in forex markets. It was replaced by the US dollar in 2001 when El Salvador adopted the dollar as legal tender.
Example
“Since El Salvador dollarized in 2001, the SVC is no longer actively traded, and all domestic transactions are conducted in US dollars at the fixed conversion rate of 8.75 SVC per USD.”
