Hard Cap

The maximum supply limit of a cryptocurrency that can ever exist. Bitcoin's hard cap is 21 million coins. A hard cap also refers to the maximum amount of funds a project aims to raise during an ICO.

Example

Bitcoin's hard cap of 21 million coins means that once all coins are mined, no new BTC will ever be created, making it a deflationary asset by design.
