Hold Time
The duration for which a trader or investor maintains an open position before closing it. Hold times can range from seconds (scalping) to years (long-term investing), depending on the trading strategy.
Example
“A scalper's average hold time was under 30 seconds per trade, while a swing trader in the same asset had a typical hold time of 3-5 days.”
