Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS)
A monthly report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics that measures job vacancies, hires, and separations. It provides insight into labor market supply and demand and is a key indicator watched by the Federal Reserve.
Example
“For example, if the JOLTS report shows job openings dropping from 9 million to 7.5 million, traders may buy bonds expecting the Fed to ease policy as the labor market cools.”
