Long Position
Buying an asset with the expectation that its price will rise. The trader profits when the price increases and sells at a higher price.
Example
“An investor opened a long position in Tesla stock at $180 per share, expecting earnings to beat estimates, and closed the trade at $210 for a tidy profit.”
