Milliard
A term used in some European countries to denote one billion (1,000,000,000). In financial contexts, it may appear in reports and is equivalent to the American usage of 'billion'.
Example
“In a European financial report, a company's assets were listed as '3.2 milliard euros,' which is equivalent to $3.2 billion in American English.”
