Multisig

Short for multi-signature, a security feature requiring multiple private keys to authorize a cryptocurrency transaction. Commonly used for shared wallets and organizational funds to reduce single-point-of-failure risk.

Example

A crypto fund required 3-of-5 multisig approval to move funds from their cold wallet, meaning three of the five keyholders had to sign before any transaction could be executed.
