Open Interest (OI)
The total number of outstanding futures or options contracts that have not been settled, closed, or expired. Rising open interest indicates new money entering the market; declining open interest suggests positions are being closed.

“Ethereum options open interest hit a record $12 billion ahead of the ETF decision, showing massive speculative interest from both bulls and bears.”
