Risk Capital
Funds allocated specifically for speculative trading or high-risk investments that the investor can afford to lose. Risk capital should be separate from money needed for essential expenses and financial obligations.
Example
“A new trader sets aside $5,000 as risk capital for learning to trade crypto, keeping their emergency fund and retirement savings completely separate from their trading account.”
