Sterling
A colloquial term for the British pound sterling (GBP), the official currency of the United Kingdom. It is one of the most traded currencies in the forex market and is also referred to as 'cable' when paired with the U.S. dollar.

“Sterling tumbled 2% against the dollar after weaker-than-expected UK GDP data raised fears that the Bank of England would need to cut rates sooner than anticipated.”
