The Trading Index (also called the Arms Index), a technical indicator that compares advancing and declining stocks to advancing and declining volume to gauge overall market sentiment.
Example
“A TRIN reading above 2.0 during the selloff indicated extreme bearish sentiment and heavy selling volume, which contrarian traders interpreted as a potential capitulation signal.”
