Uptrend

A sustained directional move in an asset's price characterised by a series of higher highs and higher lows over time. An uptrend indicates that buyers are consistently willing to pay more for the asset, reflecting positive market sentiment and demand. Traders often use trendlines, moving averages, and momentum indicators to confirm and trade within uptrends, entering on pullbacks to support levels.

Example

The stock had been in a clear uptrend since January, with each pullback finding support at the rising 50-day moving average before resuming higher.
