Venezuelan Bolivar (VEF)
The official currency of Venezuela, which has undergone multiple redenominations due to extreme hyperinflation. The bolivar has been issued in several iterations including the bolivar fuerte (VEF), bolivar soberano (VES), and bolivar digital, each removing zeroes from the previous denomination. Venezuela's severe economic crisis, collapsing oil production, and political instability have made the bolivar one of the most rapidly depreciating currencies in modern history.
Example
“The Venezuelan government removed six zeroes from the bolivar in its third redenomination, renaming it the digital bolivar in an attempt to simplify transactions amid ongoing hyperinflation.”
