Whitelist
In cryptocurrency and blockchain contexts, a pre-approved list of wallet addresses that are granted specific privileges such as early access to a token sale, NFT mint, or participation in an initial DEX offering (IDO). In broader financial and cybersecurity contexts, whitelisting refers to approving specific entities, IP addresses, or transactions while blocking all others by default. The whitelisting process typically requires users to register, complete verification, and meet eligibility criteria in advance.
Example
“The NFT project opened whitelist registration two weeks before the public mint, allowing approved addresses to purchase at a discounted price during the presale window.”
