Stellar is an open-source blockchain network designed for fast, low-cost cross-border payments and asset tokenization. Founded by Jed McCaleb (co-founder of Ripple) and Joyce Kim, Stellar uses its own Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP) based on Federated Byzantine Agreement. The network has been adopted by major companies including MoneyGram, Circle (USDC), and Franklin Templeton for payments, stablecoin issuance, and tokenized fund management. Stellar focuses on connecting financial institutions and enabling accessible financial services.
