About zkSync Era

zkSync Era is an Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solution that uses zero-knowledge rollup technology to batch transactions and generate cryptographic proofs for Ethereum validation. Developed by Matter Labs, zkSync Era offers EVM compatibility through its custom zkEVM compiler, enabling developers to deploy Solidity smart contracts. The network provides significantly lower gas fees than Ethereum mainnet while maintaining strong security through mathematical proofs rather than fraud challenges. zkSync launched its native ZK token in June 2024.
