EZ Core CPI Flash Estimate y/y
Track the EZ Core CPI Flash Estimate y/y to gauge inflation trends that influence ECB rate decisions.
Overview
Consumer prices are a key component of overall inflation. Inflation significantly influences currency value, as increasing prices compel central banks to hike interest rates to fulfill their mandate of controlling inflation. Eurostat derives this estimate from early CPI data reported by 13 euro area member nations. There are two versions of this report, released approximately two weeks apart: the Flash version and the Final version. The Flash report, first published in April 2013, is the earliest and typically exerts the most influence.
