Overview
This is the most comprehensive indicator of economic activity and serves as the primary metric for assessing the health of the economy. Two versions of GDP are published roughly a month apart — the Preliminary and the Final report. The Preliminary version, being the first released, usually has the greatest influence. Note that the series calculation formula was altered in December 2004, August 2002, and December 2000.
