JN Revised Industrial Production m/m

Monitor Japan's Revised Industrial Production m/m to gauge economic health and consumer conditions.

Overview

This is a key economic health indicator, as production responds swiftly to fluctuations in the business cycle and is linked to consumer conditions like employment and income levels. The 'Previous' data reflects the 'Actual' figures from the Preliminary release, which may make the 'History' data seem disconnected. Two versions of this indicator are published about 15 days apart: Preliminary and Revised. The Preliminary release is the first and generally has the most significant impact.

Key Information

What it Measures

It assesses the change in the total value of output produced by manufacturers, mines, and utilities, adjusted for inflation.

Usual Effect

If the 'Actual' figure exceeds the 'Forecast', it is favorable for the currency.
